We are counting the days until you are born! We are so happy you are coming into our lives. Although we haven't met you yet, we love you so much already. We know you are going to be the most precious little girl baby in the world. You have the best Mommy and Daddy that any baby could ever want. They love you so, so much. They are both really cool people, and we know you will love them with all your heart. Your Daddy is our baby son! He was once a tiny baby like you and he has brought happiness into our hearts and lives from the moment he was born on a Saturday long ago on February 16, 1980 at 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon. Once you meet him, you will see why he makes our hearts sing and our faces smile.
Stella's Daddy, Jonathan Watkins Berry -- 3 days' old
Going home from hospital with Papa and Emmie
We have so many stories to tell you of your Daddy -- stories that will make you laugh out loud and give you a happy heart. We're creating this blog just for you 'cause we want you to know all about your Daddy's family. First, there's Papa; he is your Daddy's Daddy -- and YOUR grandaddy! You're gonna love Papa! He's the most wonderful Daddy in the world, and he will be a Grandaddy that any little girl would adore. He'll say silly nilly things and make you giggle, and he's not big on discipline. I have a feeling he's already wrapped around your little finger and tied with a bow!

Your Daddy has one sister, three brothers, and one brother-in-law: Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Sonny; Uncle Kurt; Uncle Kelley; and Uncle Bub [Josh]. More on these characters another post. I've a sneaky feeling they will all spoil you rotten! We're looking forward to showing you off to all your extended family: your uncles and aunts and your cousins; and there are a bunch of 'em -- both Berrys [Papa's side of the family] and Littles [Emmie's side]. Also, I will be so happy for you to know our family friends who cherish you already -- our family's not complete without our life-friends.
And as for Emmie [that's me!], the most important thing I want you to know about me right now is that the love in my heart for you is soooo big, I think it might burst! Stella, it's a kind of love I've never known before -- I think I'll call it EmmieLove .
Your loving grandparents,
Papa and Emmie

Hi Baby Stella,
ReplyDeleteI am your Aunt Nell. I am your Emmie's sister. I live in Costa Rica so I won't get to see you when you go to MS to visit Emmie, but I want to know you, so we will keep in touch by Skype and Facebook. You already are a star on Facebook. And I will get to meet you when I come to US. You are so special to me as I have no nietos (Spanish for grandchildren) so Emmie will have to share...just a little. I love you.
